compression testing the engine....will this work? 900

As im up for a turbo rebuild (i.e. EXPENSE) I thought before doing this I will compression test the engine...on the grounds of not spending money until I know its worth spending money on the engien in general..

And I have come up with a dinky idea...but feel free to tell me its stupid!

My problrm being not having an assistant to turn the engine over on the key...so
im going to hot wire the low current side of the solanoid to a button pickle so i can tuen it over from under the bonnet....

now if i do this i dont have to have the ignition on at all....so why do i need to disconnect the coil & injector wires?

go on tell me im stupid...but isnt it a dinky idea?
