seat switching 200

So, I have the passneger seat almost completly disassembled in my living room, so far so good. I am trying to turn the passenger seat into a drivers seat and then I'll pick up a junkyard seat and use it as the passenger seat when I have the money (actually, I'll use the my drivers seat for now and it'll just suck for the passenger). I have run into a snag and need some quick help. The pivot arms are not interchangeable and, since I want the recline knob on the door side I need to switch the gears. I ahve that seperated from the seat but there is a clip that I do not know how to remove. It is about 1/2"ish around and has little ears that hold it to a square shaped bar. I need to remove these clips to switch the gears. Any idea how to remove these clips?
