Clutch/Engine noise 200

I have a 1991 240. Here is the deal:

Vibration/winding noise when shifting 1-3 gears. Noise also occurs at high RPMs (i.e. using engine to slow car going down a hill). Starts always once car is warmed up. Seems okay when cold. 4th and 5th gear are fine 95% of the time. Clutch was replaced 2500 miles ago and the noise just started. It sounds like metal vibrating, but is somehow tied to shifting. Clutch does not slip or squeal, or anything like that. Its very frustrating. Nothing seems loose. Noise occurs when the clutch is pushed in, quiet when released. Any ideas anyone?

Thanks,

GEOFF SUNDBERG
