LSD for 744 700

The downside of the True Trac is that it is gear driven, and as such, it uses some small gears that may or may not be a weak link. So overall strength is controversial.

The Dana Powr-Lock LSD will chuff a bit in tight low speed turns, because it is one of the most aggressive (tightest) clutch type LSDs. There are a couple of guys using it on the V8 forum. It can be set to be less aggressive, and can be rebuilt if the clutches wear.

I was led to believe that the Volvo unit is actually the Dana "Trak-Lock" LSD, which is slightly less aggressive and slightly less strong overall than the "Powr-Lock".
