Injector leak on 740 turbo diesel 700 1987

I discovered that injector 6 was leaking diesel. I also noticed that the ends of the fuel return pipe were wet on the pipe between pump and injector 6 and between injector 6 and injector 5. I then swapped these two with the pipes between 4 and 3 and 3 and 2 (does that make sense?). My idea was that if that would then make a leak on no 4, 3 and/or 2, the pipes would be at fault and if the leak would stay on 6, then it would be the injector. Took car for an hours normal driving, and then popped the bonnet open.. No leaks anywhere, or so it would seem? I find this strange, has anyone got an explaination. I should say that it leaked quite a lot before, the area beneat injector 6 was noticably wet.
