Yes, thanks, good point on the possible beinging of pins/cracking of solder. I'm going tommorow w/ my now fixed relay and my trusty iron to *hopefully* get her car running again. It is a fairly salty environment, on the south shore of MA (that floorpan was sure fun to make :) ), The only thing i can guess is that something must've happened upon reinstallation of the relay. Like you say, hard to diagnose in the cold rain (which reminds me, testing for spark in the rain when you're wet... bad idea OUCH) in a driveway w/ 3 people trying to give their opinion on what it is.
I think pondering selling my car is more or less an excuse to get that 242GLT i've always wanted... heh. Yes, i have to agree now seeing that point, suddenly reminded of hunting down relays on my first car (82 245) and being upside down trying to put them all back. I just look at the two VERY different designs and think 200/simple engineering 700/overengineered. Both having good and bad qualities.
Speaking of overengineering, has anyone found any really surefire ways to adjust the centerbearing support? Back is starting to get sore from messing w/ ti, got the takeoff vibrations down but it's still pretty evident that they're there. Thanks again!
