Centre Armrest installation. (front 240) help! 200 1989

hello everyone,

i recently obtained a Volvo OEM centre armrest for a 240 model. this unit has one supporting bracket on the left hand side of the unit. it has a small button at the end to disengage the sprockets (internal) to raise and lower the angle of the armrest when fitted.

the mounting arm / bracket is slightly angled to allow fitting, and has two (2) holes at the end to attach "somewhere"?

my dad and i haven't been able to determine exactly how this unit is fitted. does it attach to the inner side of the front seat, rail system, console?? we just haven't been able to figure it out.?? maybe we have missed the obvious.

can anyone please assist us?? many thanks.
