Faint whine, further investigation '90 700

Hi, I posted a few days ago about a whine that was been diagnosed as the driveshaft center support bearing by people here. So, hoping to hear the sound better, I blocked the front wheels and jacked up the rear end with 2 jacks (this was probably a bad idea). With the car off, the first thing I noticed was that the rear wheels didn't quite spin freely. There was a scraping sound, like a braks pad is resting on the rotor. Strange, I thought, but I figured if the rotor and calipers were floating, it was ok. So I started her up and idled in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, and the left wheel turned, but the right one didn't. If I helped it along or dragged something on the left one it did, but it seems strange that there's that big a difference in friction. I never did hear the whine, but it's intermittent anyway. And one thing that really worried me - the left wheel went up and down a little as it turned! Are these things normal?

Thanks!
Richard
