Fuel Consumption Change, 740 turbo 700 1990

Was getting 23-24 mpg, now getting barely 20 mpg. No major change in performance of daily driving habits, Car has about 94,000 miles, Idle has maybe become slightly more eratic, +/- 50 rpm. Recently changed plugs. Any Ideas of what could be the problem? Also where would I find the O2 sensor on this turbo engine. Not in plug of exhaust pipe where I thought it would be??
