double engine start syndrome 700 1989

The fuel check valve closes when the engine is turned off, retaining the fuel system line pressure between starts. If this is bad, it will leak over night and it will take a while for the fuel system to repressurise and hence a slow start.
I would begin by changing this first.
Then I would replace the enging temp sensor. This sensor tells the ECU add more fuel if the engine is cold. Fuel can condensate in a cold engine leaving a lean starting mixture. This is why extra fuel is added at cold startup by the ECU.
The ECU is the Head of the octopus. All the sensors are its tentacles. TPS,AMM,TEMP,AIC,LAMDA,KNOCK. I'm going though my 740 to make sure all these LH compnents are in good order so I don't have to have alot of piecemeal failures.
