1200 rpm rattle - fixed 900 1993

Finally solved the 1200 rpm metallic rattling sound that afflicted my '93 945T.
The rattle happened when the engine was cold, in forward, neutral & reverse, right around 1200 rpm only.
The bracket that goes round the downpipe and bolts onto a stud at the back of the block/front of the bellhousing was unbolted & hanging loose on the bottom of the downpipe. I got the proper locking flange nut from my Volvo dealer, squeezed the bracket back on the stud (I real PITA, I might add) and bolted it down... no more rattle!
I suspect the sound was coming from the catalytic converter, rather than those pesky heat shields, or the downpipe itself... on my car, the heat shields are all attached to the body of the car, rather than to the exhaust pipe. I'm going to prepare ($$) for the cat crapping out at some point soon...
