sorry to come back to this
i earlier posted that a vertical distance of about an inch between the pulley mark and the timing marks on timing case was making distributer timing difficult,
john B was kind enough to reply, referring to an annulus ring and harmonic balancer, most uk models (ive now checked 4) dont seem to have these, just a plain pulley, (oh and a gap)
could this be the problem?
