Hi,

Apologies for the delayed reply - was away for the weekend.... I had a similar problem with my '67 in that the amp light would come on when I tried to use the indicators accompanied by a jump in the fuel guage needle - this progressed to no oil pressure or amp light before I got the car home. My guess is that in my case a perished front indicator rubber backing has resulted in a bad earth in that circuit or it could be the double filament bulb that the P.O. stuffed into one of the rear indicator sockets! To make it all a bit more interesting I had first assumed that my voltage regulator was cooking my battery (yet to be proven/disproven) and that the circuit was being cooked as well. I checked the amp bulb to see if that had blown (it hadn't) and when I re-inserted it everything went back to normal. I reckon that it's providing an earth for that circuit at the moment. (Any other opinions greatly appreciated)

Anyway, this is a long drawn out way of saying that the best cure is to trace through each circuit with a copy of the wiring diagram and just see where everything's at. As the others have said, the fuseboard and ignition switch are good places to start especially as your symptoms seem to be spread across a couple of circuits.
