Miracle diesel? 200

I need some advice- I have been offered a 1984 wagon, garage kept, well maintained, one owner, 175K, manual tranny, power windows, etc...but it is DIESEL..... it had a ring/valve job 15 k ago, had a new heater blower motor two months ago.
Looks great, runs great, does not seem to be leaking oil.

The selling price is 800.00 . It it worth it?

I am aware of the diesel issues, that the diesel engine can be a dog. seems to be a sensitive issue.

But gee the car is one owner, great mintenance record, and new rings, blower, tires, and i forgot to mention a new timing belt fifteen k ago.
Should I buy it.?
I currently drive a volvo 245 wagon, 1986. Runs good- no A/c. good body, good interior. I paid 600 for that one. Put 11k on it in three months, no problems.

I am not sure- should i get the 84 volvo.
My big fear is the sickness is starting- before i know it i will have third volvo.
Any advice is welcomed.
