What is It? B230F Connection 700

Hi, thanks to all the help from fellow brickboarder I have installed my engine and I am in the process reconnecting all the little electrical, vacum, and ground lines. I would like your help on figuring out a few connections I either did not get good engine pictures of or did not make as good of notes as I might have. The following are connections I'm trying to figure out.

1. In the right hand side, rear near the bell housing, there is a connection in the block. It does not look like a electrical connection, looks more like a hose type. What could it be?

2. Running along the bottom of the engine compartment frame, just below where the power steering pump is, I have a thick--(probably #10) wire. It looks like it might be a ground but there isn't any connector end,(it was probably stripped off during the engine removal) What is it and where does it go?

Thanks, it's about finished.
