Back up light 200 1983

Hi all:
Replaced the rear coils last night. Also did the tranny mount. While I was at it, tried to troubleshoot my back-up lights. I don't think it's the switch. I disconnected the wires to and bypassed the switch with ignition on and tranny on reverse. Still no back up lights. Bulbs are good by the way. In the process of troubleshooting, unaware,I must have shorted one of the wires and blew fuse #12. Came time to start the car, no start. Checked the fuel pump relays and fuses, AMM and heck, I even replaced the ECU with my spare. I was almost at wits end when I decided to backtrack what I did. So, I decided to check the fuse for the back up light. It was blown. Replaced it, and voila! The brick started right up. So, what else is connected to fuse #12 besides the AC that prevented the car from starting? Well, did I go off on a tangent there? Back to the back up light issue, what do I need to check next? Please help a fellow brickster on this safety issue.
