radio problems 700 1986

First of all I would like th thank all you fellow brickboarders out there for all the help you have given me. My stock am/fm cass. radio is making a constant ticking noise through the speakers. I had just bought this car 86 740 and the prior owner had another stereo in there and when he put it up for sale he was obviously confused and didn't hook everything up, so I took it apart and hooked everything up except and orange wire and a small black wire. I have no idea where these wires go but everything seems to work ok except the constant ticking noise which is driving me nuts. Could it be the amp going bad, something in the stereo, or maybe something to do with the black and orange wires?

Jeff
