Economy vs. Sport Transmission Modes ('96 960) 900

Just curious:

I don't notice a whole lot of difference between "E" and "S" modes at least at very low throttle acceleration and driving.

Both modes seem to upshift into the next gear at about 2000-2100 rpm under very light acceleration, and converter lock-up in 4th at about 40-45 mph (again at about 2100 rpm in the lower gear) with light throttle.

Under heavy throttle, I think "S" definately keeps the tranny in lower gear longer before upshifting.

Is this what most of you experience?

Thanks,
Bob
