Hidden rust 700

Winter is what we have here all year round. It's the opposite to summer which is one day of no rain we have here sometime between June - August, we don't know when, it's different every year, but we can tell by the frightening yellow thing in the sky and the fact our naturally blue skin suddenly goes red and hurts.
You should see the rust on my 740 GLT Estate. Ok it's 16 years old and spent most of its life trucking up and down farm tracks with a horse box and/or dead sheep in the back of it. The bonnet and the tailgate remain rust free (obviously) but the rest looks like painted bubble gum. BUT, it still passes it's MOT test every year with flying colours. (MOT=Ministry of Transport) test for roadworthiness
On the other hand my 740 SE Saloon, a 12 year old which has been treated rather better has no rust anywhere once failed it's MOT test because of a worn wiper blade, tsk!
One of my friends who has a 9 year old Land Rover Discovery just spent £870 to get it throught the MOT test and it's body is made entirely of aluminium !!! It's just the rest of it was a bit worn !!!!!
