Electrical gremlins.... 700

Gidday..
Due at scrutineering for our local eighth mile drag meet in 24 hours, which is great if the bastard car was going.
Whilst returning from a long journey car started to break down intermitendly, cough shudder backfire go again, then the same, stall completely, but start again immediately.
Five or six times over a distance of 300 miles.
Once home found coil not performing within parameters, and suspected it had damaged the ignition module as a result.
Replaced both, car went fine, drove to supermarket, bought groceries, car stated, then ran roughly on idle, no response to throttle, then died.
Towed to auto electricians, distributor removed, clear seal leak and oil contamination, a common problem I believe.
New dizzy, cap, rotor, arriving this morning.
Anything else that might spring to mind for anyone, help appreciated, I couldn`t sleep for grief last nite !!!

Cheers Mike.
