stalling, not electrical 700 1991

91 740 non-turbo, 158,000 miles, recent tune up; Car intermittently stalls at varying speeds 20-70 miles per hour. This does not seem to be electrical since tach, speedometer, etc. continue to operate until rpms are so low that engine stops. Suspect fuel delivery disruption. More frequent after a gas fill up. Any suggestions about diagnosing and correcting this problem?
