rear bushing removal with sawzall!?? 200

I've been looking at that home brew bushing removal tool site adn have wondered if anyone had experience removing the rear trailing arm bushings by cutting them with a torch or sawzall? It appears that if a section was cut out from the bushing between the axle brackets that the remaining pieces could easily be tapped out of the brackets. I'm assuming removal of the metal tube prior to cutting. Anyone tried this? K
