Tailgate wiring 200

Instrument test lead wire is also a good choice. In years past I used it for fixing tailgate harnesses and never had a failure from it. Test lead wire is super-multi-stranded for flexibility, and the insulation's rubber (not plastic) so it stays flexible in the deep cold.

I believe you can buy test lead wire at Radio Shack, but I don't know if their quality (intended for the hobbiest) is as good as industrial stuff.

Also ----- when you support the tailgate, BE SURE to put an old towel or rag between the upper lip of the tailgate and the car's roof, just where they might make contact. If anything on the ladder shifts, you'll have a ding in your roof (how do I know this?).
