Wire on the clutch? 200 1980

Hello everyone. While iwas looking for my fuel pump relay on my driverside kickpanel (haynes got it wrong, it's on the passenger side), I noticed two wires going to my clutch. Noe wire was a light purple and the other was a light green. the light green one was ripped out from where it attacheses to. They both attach to a white plastic pieceabout 4 inches above my pedal pad. I was wondering if this could be causing my OD not to enguage.
And tomarrow after school, I'm going to but my driverside kickpanel bac, and bridge my fuel pump relay on the passenger side to see if thats causing my cold start problem.
Thank you all. Any help would be nice.
