Timing gear question 120-130

Very few of the B30s from 164s had steel gears. I've looked at
a reasonable sample size (maybe 15 total, from every year but more from
later rather than earlier years) and only one had a steel gear and
that motor had been rebuilt so many times the bores were all
sleeved, it had a worn out american made cam, and the crank had
20/30 bearings in it. The only 164s that had steel gears stock
were the 164 TEs from 1975.

The alloy gear sets from napa are less than $200us and are as
noisy as the fiber gears.
