1988 Volvo 240 doesn't start occasionally 200

Hello.

My tried and true 1988 240 w/260K miles on it has a bit of an issue. Occasionally it won't start. The starter spins the motor, but it won't start. Unfortunately it's an intermittent problem that has been going on for close to six months. It happened again last night. It wouldn't start, but this morning it cranked right up like there was never a problem. What gives? Any ideas? I've replaced the fuel pump relay recently and it has newish fuel filters. What else should I check? Has anyone had similar problems?

Please help. I love my car, but this intermittent problem may lead to its replacement.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
