'88 240 Speedo Chip Fried

A friend of mine recently soldered the bypass-fix on his '88 240's temp. compensating board, for which he naturally removed the instrument box. Alas, when replacing the wires, he mistakenly hooked both the speedo impulse wire (blue) and the tach wire (red/white) to the two-pronged speedo connector. After a short drive, things got smoky, and eventually he found the black "centipede" chip well-done on the circuit board. I assume the best thing's to replace the board from a u-pull-it junker, but wonder which years would fit that model. If anyone out there has one cheap, let me know. Thanks!
