Steering rebuild tips? 140-160 1973

Next weekend I'm going to replace both steering rods, the center tie rod's ends and the idler arm bushing. My Haynes manual is pretty vague on this stuff -- doesn't even say whether the car should be jacked up or the wheels off. I assume yes on both counts. And of course a post-job alignment.

Will a pickle fork be all I need or should I get a ball joint puller?

How much should I expect to pay to have the idler arm bushing pressed?

Anything to look out for?

I've replaced the power rack on my 240 so this is not totally terra incognita.
