Snapped my emergency brake cable 700

Brick Bros.....my E-Brake has been slipping of late ( obviously needs new pads since I have 194k on the car) so I gave it a big yank to set it since on a 15 to 20 degree downhill grade. I've been at the gym lately and snapped something. I'm guessing the cable. I looked under the car and didn't see anything hanging.
I'm about to check the archives and FAQ's.
Soes anyone out there have a similiar experience and are there any trouble shooting tips out there. Steps to replace would be GREATLY APPRECIATED.
Shat would cost to replace be?
