Oil from the clutch?? 700

What do you make of this one boys? My father-in-law left his 1988 745 GL B200E/M47 for me to look over for the week. The main thing he wanted sorted was an oil leak. I am going to investigate this further (a hard task given that he recently filled up some oil and then forgot to put the cap back on and drove for a few miles so there is a fair bit of oil in the engine bay!) but have noticed the following:
The clutch is of the hydraulic type and the rubber seal on the gearbox shell where the fork comes in from the slave cylinder seems completely warped and won't fit flush. Now, I would just simply replace that but there seems to be oil coming out of there, should there be oil in there?
