Was puzzled for quite some time on where to mount an amp for a subwoofer as well as the subwoofer itself in the wagon. Finally figured out that the amp could be screwed upside down into the second "half" of the folding floor panel (one that is usually stationary closest to rear seat) that fits over the cubby hole. Then removed the felt liner over top of the spare, flipped the spare upside down to get more usable space, and cut to fit some MDF in place of the felt liner, which fits flush to the lips on each side of the storage space itself. A 10" sub fits fine centered in the middle of the upside down spare, and it is basically suspended through a cutout in the MDF effectively in the middle of the storage space/spare tire well)
Despite the fact that the cover is folded back down, there is ample bass (for me) and the whole thing (amp included) is tucked tidily away from cargo and everyones view. I have noticed that on really hot days (i first installed this in late August) and extended high volume trips that the amp heat overload trips occasionally, and i'm thinking of cutting out a few spots in the folding floor and installing some type of grid or even 12v thermo fans there if i want to get fancy.
Thought i'd pass this on in case no-one has mentioned this set up yet. The overall system sounds great, running the original dash speakers off a new head unit and front/rear doors off one amp, sub off another.
