Front shock mount question 700

Can someone who has BTDT tell me if front shock mounts can be rebuilt? I read in the FAQ about the 45 ball bearings, but I can't figure out if the mount is rebuildable until I tear into one. I've gotta 1989 765 Tic.

It would help if someone with experience could help me out.
