Removing key while engine running? 700 1986

>If it depends on the door opening and closing to "think" you left the car, >just open and close the door, and wait for it to turn off. Or will that set >the alarm off when you go to leave the car for real?

I suspect the alarm would go off but I can't look at the alarm's documentation to know for sure.

>Also, will it disable the remote start if you turn the key to "off" and pull >it out of the ignition, using the manual trans feature of the alarm? That >way, it wouldn't work at all obviously, to try and fool it into thinking >you've left.

If I had the alarm set for manual transmission remote start I bet it would disable it; but if I set the alarm to automatic transmission, maybe it wouldn't care how I left the vehicle.

What I really wanted to do was be able to remove my key from the ignition, maybe I can get a spare ignition lock from the junk yard and play with it :)
