Thanks for the input - have reconsidered...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hey all, just wanted to say thanks for the input! I appreacite the honest thoughts, both critical and supportive.
After reading the posts here, as well as the ones at turbobricks, it seems that the consensus is that this will indeed load the struts in ways that will either cause premature failure or the struts or at least have some adverse affects in handling.
I really was just planning this as a temporary measure till I can go ahead and buy some of the Cherry braces, but I must admit being concerned about ruining my Bilstiens (after all, they are not cheap!). I think I might go ahead and remove it for now, and maybe use it to generate some additional ideas on a "tower to tower" brace like the Cherry model. That was actually my original plan to begin with, but I saw a neat website by an Audi owner that let me to this idea... Check out his site at:

Note that in the past 24 hours I have cornered the car pretty hard, hard enough to almost lift the wheels on the far side (not intentionally I must admit! it was kind of an over ambitious test of the car's handling...scared the crap out of me!), and the brace held its shape... though perhaps it deflected significantly in the actual turn, but had enough elastic resilience to rebound to its original shape?
Oh well, at least it generated lots of interesting questions! And I must say, I had fun making the thing if nothing else
I will repost if I can fab something for a tower-to-tower brace like the Cherry model, with the plan be perhaps making a prototype using the conduit, and then using some real steel rod for the final model.... I am thinking something more along the lines of the IPD brace I have on my S70... it uses the standard circular plats that mount on the tower with a linkage connecting to a straight bar... who knows?!?!
Thanks for the input!
