Voltage Regulator Replacement? 300

The voltage regulator is integral with the brush holder. Two bolts and it's out. Once it's out, look iside there to check the conditoni of the slip rings. Also, get an idea of the manipulation needed to install the new ones.

Usually the brushes are way worn down after 100K miles or so. Worn to less than 5mm is too short.

Never have I had a voltage regulator actually fail. Short brushes can cause low charge, arcing on the slip rings, and maybe contribute to a diode failure.

Post back with what you find.

Good Luck,

Bob
