Procedure for cleaning and waxing a car?

Do a search, there are lots of posts about care care.

Go to meguiars.com for more information about auto finishes than you can use.

You might try the sites of other car care products also.

I wash my brick using plenty of water, and then dry it with a clean chamois.

Polish is a fine abrasive used to remove a thin layer of dull paint and fine scratches, I never use it. My cars are usually so old I do not want to rub all the paint off.

A cleaner wax is a bit gentler, I use straight wax, I like Meguiar's #26, I like the way it feels after waxing and it is easy to work with. Use an old tooth brush to remove wax from difficult areas.

I have a buffer, but I do not use it more than once a year, I'm a bit lazy.

Good luck
