what to be done at 60k miles (960 '97 sedan) 900 1997

Unless something is out of ordinary, it shouldn't cost that much. The following is a list of items for your reference. You can do them yourself in one weekend morning and less than $100. 70k miles is a big service including timing belt and accessory belt change. You might as well save the $650 until than. Good luck!

1. oil and filter change
2. coolant change, if never done
3. brake fluid change, if never done
4. clean or replace flam trap
5. replace spark plugs
6. check belts integrity
7. check or replace air filter
8. check all hoses and radiator inlet and outlet for leaks
9. check front control arm bushings for wear
10. check front brake pads thickness
11. add some fuel injector cleaner to fuel tank
