Front shock mount question 700

The only part of the upper strut mount that could be replaced is the bearing. I doubt the bearing itself could cause the clunk you are describing. The strut mount has a large rubber molded core with a steel sleeve in the center through which the strut passes. If that sleeve breaks free of the rubber you will hear a clunk when you go over bumps. When I replaced my struts, the sleeve broke loose while torquing the top strut nut. The upper strut mount which includes the bearing is available from FCPGroton for $47.00

Bruce
