Help with 1984 240 GL Turbo wagon 200

Hi, I'm really glad I found this site. A few days ago I bought this car and it's associated problems from my neighbors for a few hundered dollars. It has 189,000 miles on it and it runs well but burns and drips oil. I've noticed that there is a lot of exhaust smoke during rapid acceleration, but not really noticeable if I accelerate slowly. I also saw some smoke wafting up through the dipstick hole when I was checking the oil level while the engine was still warm. Any advice on these smoke problems? As far as the oil drip goes, I saw a couple of previous maintainence receipts that said the 'turbo lines' are leaking. I don't think this ever got repaired. Another receipt said the 'remote oil plate line' was dripping. Can anyone explain what these lines are?

TIA
