84 240 Power trunk release 200 1984

I have an 84 240 with the power trunk release option. This morning i popped the trunk - no problem there. Now when i close it the trunk lid does not latch shut. I tried pressing the button again thinking maybe it was stuck but it sounds normal. Any help on this matter is appreciated.
