Broken odometer 200

If you pull your speedohead out and you KNOW it's the small little "tooth" gear, check the archives (within the past week or two) for a guy who makes and sells the gear for about $25.

Alternatively, if you are up around the Gainesville area, you can make an appointment and bring it to Continental Imports. About a year and a half ago, I brought mine in there. It cost me $125.00 for the repair with a 1 year warranty. Unfortunately, it broke 5,000 miles later. Brought it back for a fix... It broke 1,500 miles later. Brought it back one more time... and it broke 45 miles down I-75. Go figure. Needless to say, I got my money back after 10 months. If you let them pull the unit, it'll cost more.

Look them up at: yp.bellsouth.com.

I know they have fixed hundreds of speedos, as they are an authorized VDO shop. I guess mine was a bad apple. They swore they've never had a problem like I had.

Would *I* bring another unit to them? I doubt it. Can I recommend them? Well, if you have your mind set on having it fixed by a shop, bring it to them. Places in Tampa want about $175 and I'm not sure of the Orlando area.

FYI, my odometer says 117,000 on it.. It should say about 135,000... When I get another unit, I'll bump up the mileage and swap gears myself. :-) Sorry, I need to get off of my soapbox. heh.
