Bad Heater Core and related problems- 700 1988

Hi fellow brikboarders, I'm now found I have a bad Heater Core and I have removed it, oh what a *#$@%^% job. At this point I would like to take care of any problmes I might have with ANYTHING under dash since I have it torn appart. My problems are as follows:

a. In the last few year I have had a HISSING sound, air like, when I move the climate control lever. The sound would only stop in certain positions, usually all the way to the right. I'm sure it has something to do with the vacuum lines but what??

b. Can anyone tell me where the Vacuum solenoid Valve is located on my 1988 740? I would like to trace the lines and I'm not sure where it is?

c. Lastly, can anyone tell me where the vacuum line from the heater control valve connects to in the engine compartment?

You help is greatly appeciated.

paw
