Rotor Button 200 1985

I posted a few posts back about motor mounts that I just got from FCP Groton. I also got a new distributor cap and rotor button. The cap is fine and I already put it on. However, the button, although it looks the same, has a smaller cylinder honed out in the back to fit over the shaft in the distributor. I checked the part number with FCP's website and it is right so I got the right part according to the site. It is for a 1985 B230F. There is no vacuum line connected to the distributor but there is a plug with multiple wires coming into it. The only reason I can think this is wrong is that the California spec cars (mine is) had a different distributor for some reason? It is a bosch distributor too with the red cap. Anyone have any ideas? Did bosch just put the wrong part into the box? thanks.
