Okay, I STILL can't turn my service light off 700 1990

I've looked up the archives on this site of how to reset the service light that comes on for 2 minutes or so (every 5,000 miles) when I start my Volvo. I've removed that little black rubber cap below the speedometer, pressed that button thingy, and still the light stays on. I've done it (pressed the button) while the car is running, while it's not running but the key still in the ignition, and I've done it while the car is off and there's no key in the ignition. I've done it in hot weather. I've done it in cold weather. I've used a pencil. I've used a pen. I've used an awl. I've pressed gently. I've pressed firmly. I've pressed it while the light was on, just after starting the car. I've pressed it after the light had turned off while driving on the highway. I've stared at it for long durations. I still can't get it to shut off. Any suggestions?
