Ignition Modification for 122. 120-130 1967

c;

The delay in starter activation can be caused by a slow/sluggish solenoid or high current contact, OR an Ign switch electrical problem. I agree totally with Pete...proper diagnosis what you need...I suggest you temporarilly connect a momentary (high current) switch from the fat battery terminal to the solenoid control on the starter, and push the button to activate the starter...you'll know pretty quick if its the solenoid or the Ign switch.

broken;

Thanks for reference...naturally I recommend this also, but only after proper diagnosis and repair (if called for) of the problem.

George;

The nice thing(s) about installing a pushbutton upgrade is that you leave the OE IGN switch (and so you don't need to wrestle with the armoured cable), but just takes the 35 year old start contact out of the picture AND it effectively prevents broken keys...install the upgrade for either reason of your choice, but install it!

Cheers
