240 water on the floor 200

Had same problem 2 months ago with my 89 240 sedan plus draining to lower area on back passenger drivers side. took carpet up and pulled off shroud under steering wheel . if you look up near firewall there is about a one inch hole that actually leads to area where water drains into cowl vent in front of windshield , if your drains are plugged anywhere the water could overflow and easily get in car. plug hole or holes elsewhere and make sure drains are clear.could be this or something else, full investigation is in order. good luck
