So get a new one and install it. 700 1986

It's actually a pretty good design as far as plastic housings go...the real problem is it lives in a hot and often oil-sprayed environment.

The new housing costs about $4 and takes maybe 10 minutes to install...the distributor has tø be out øƒ the engine which is as good a time as any to replace the two easily accessible O-rings...don't even try to replace the inside seal which takes a special tool to avoid bending the shaft when you drive out the pin.

Next time be more careful when you put in the distributor....
