Hi or Low 700

I had one of those all plastic heater hose valves break off last week at a very bad place on the highway. Replaced it but noticed ? heat was not as hot as could be. I started to look at the heater hose attachments into the firewall. The 745 1990 turbo that broke plus two others one at 745 turbo 1988, and 740 1989 GLE all have the heater hoses connected as this: Top goes to the metal return pipe into the water pump and the bottom from the side of the head (HOT) into the valve and then into the bottom connector on the firewall.

The 700 manuals I have have no diagrams of this. The 700/900 FAQ says the hoses should be the reverse of the three 700 Volvos we own.

OK What is the correct placement of the heater hoses ? Thank You Very Much.

PS. I think two of the Volvos have never touched in the heater hose areas. These to my knowledge are factory installed.

six Volvos
