Anyone else had problems with aftermarket T-belt tensioners? 200

Last night the timing belt tensioner exploded on my 88 - which is strange as it was a brand new aftermarket one I installed 18 months ago during a major service. It was a German brand, not Volvo OE, and the one I installed today is the same brand I think. I was wondering if anyone else has had early failures of any non-OE t-belt tensioner?
