Limping Home...is it the AMM or the CPS??? 700 1989

Heve had intermittent stumbling and some poor running...redid the coneectors at the Radio Supresent Relay,,ran fine until this morning when I swapped out the voltage regulaor with a good used one (longer brushes)..then the car started stopping and stumbling...finally limped home...codes read 1.3.1 and 1.2.1. These indicate signal missing from AMM or from Crank Position Sensor. How to tell which is which one messing up???
Thanks for any help,
el Raidman
